Who qualifies
You're eligible if your lab hasn't purchased from Slingshot before and any one of these applies:
Started a new lab
New PI, new group, or a lab established within the last two years.
Moved an existing lab
New institution or new site within the last two years.
Received your first grant
First independent award within the last two years.
Founded a company
Incorporated within the last four years.
Anyone working in the lab can apply: PI, lab manager, postdoc, research associate, or technician. We just ask for the name of the principal investigator or lab head so we know whose lab the code belongs to.
The program is for the lab that will use the products. Resellers can't enroll on their own behalf, and purchasing agents can't apply for a customer.
One enrollment per lab or company, and your pricing can't be transferred to another group. If your institution already has contract or negotiated pricing with Slingshot, or its policies don't allow promotional pricing, tell us on the application and we'll confirm whether the program applies.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use my New Lab Program discount with a purchase order?+
Yes. Reference your code on the PO and we'll apply the discount before invoicing. Most institutional buyers use this route.
Does the New Lab Program cover custom cell mimics?+
No. The program applies to catalog products. Custom TruCytes® biomarker development and OEM supply are quoted per project. Start from our custom cell mimics page and we'll work out pricing directly.
Can I use the program through my institution's procurement system?+
Yes. The program works when you order directly from Slingshot or through an approved procurement channel — VWR/Avantor, Fisher Scientific, Scientist.com, Science Exchange or eMolecules — where we can identify your lab on the order and apply your pricing. It doesn't cover purchases through third-party resellers that buy our products for resale. If your institution routes orders through a channel that isn't on that list, email sales@slingshotbio.com and we'll work out pricing with you.
Can I combine the New Lab Program with other discounts?+
No. Program pricing can't be combined with other promotions, quotes, or contract pricing.
What if my cytometer isn't installed yet?+
Tell us your preferred start date on the application, any time within the next 12 months. Your six months begins then, not when you apply.
Which controls should a new lab order first?+
Most new labs start with three: a viability control (ViaComp® Ultra™ XT), a compensation control (SpectraComp®), and an immunophenotyping panel control (TBNK Mimic™). Together they cover live/dead gating, spectral unmixing, and panel validation. If you're also training new staff, the Flow Cytometry Training Kit is built for that.

US labs that haven't purchased from Slingshot before, and that started, moved, or received a first independent grant within the last two years — or companies incorporated within the last four years. Anyone working in the lab can submit the application. We just ask for the name of the principal investigator or lab head.
